Each one has its own unique style and personality that EA has done a fantastic job of replicating. But yes, the courses are absolutely gorgeous. The decision to launch on current-gen consoles only has paid off somewhat, but more on that later. St Andrews, TPC Sawgrass, Pebble Beach and personal favourite Wolf Creek are all included, alongside a couple of fantasy courses from past EA games.Īnd they all look absolutely stunning. It’s a decent amount to start off with, especially considering some of the additional courses that feature. Heck, the game even suffered one final delay to make sure it released during the week of The Masters tournament, played at the same venue.īut there are also twenty-nine other courses bundled in, with more to be added over time. If EA is the same, then that might add to the time needed as well. The headline of EA SPORTS PGA TOUR is undoubtedly having the licence for Augusta National once again, a course not featured in a golf game of any shape or size since 2014. The other thing I am unsure of downloading any patches for the game.I know for PGA 2K23, downloading a new patch for it means you have to install the whole game all over again. The disc is then just the proof you own the game, because I don't think think the game runs off the disc after the initial install. to install my physical copy, too.Įssentially, I assume you download the whole game, even with a disc. My guess is this is it right here, without having any concrete proof or inside knowledge - other than the fact it took over 10 hrs. If it really was only copying from a disc though, I think it shouldn't take very long - copying to an SSD should happen very quickly. Honestly I'm not sure how those install processes work from physical media in this generation since I have the no-disc-drive PS5. Unless EA's just abandoned all pretenses of having the disc actually meaning anything and just making you download the whole game anyway. Hmm.if it's a physical version then maybe downloading wouldn't be an issue, at least initially.
